OTHER PROJECTS

1995
I was comissioned by the Lisbon Subway to create a visual set for the hoardings of Alameda building site.
2000/2004
The SUBWAY LIFE project was undertaken between 1999 and 2004 and consisted of drawing people sitting in subway carriages in 10 cities across the five continents. In total this comprised around 800 hours of work spread across the 3 to 4 weeks that I stayed in each city; my routine involved 2 two-hour sessions per day as I travelled the different lines during the full span of the opening hours. My choice of cities – London, Lisbon, Berlin, Stockholm, New York, São Paulo, Tokyo, Athens, Moscow and Cairo – was aimed at covering distinct metropolises which I did not already know. The website of this project (www.subway-life.com) was nominated in the Art category of the Flash Film Festival. To date it has received more than 6 million visits.
2004-2018
Created a weekly political cartoon for O INIMIGO PÚBLICO (in PÚBLICO newspaper).
2012
Wrote and directed LISBON, WHO ARE YOU? a multimedia piece projected on St. George’s castle walls, Lisbon.
